To Be a White Eagle |

The color white, is it an absence of color, or the inclusion of all colors? Through association we think of white as standing for purity of thought, of action of intention. The eagle has been used through out history to symbolize and to stand for so many things, that we, today do not search for these meanings. Instead, we look to the eagle as a symbol for America, the bald eagle, specifically, pround and wild, soaring above everything, looking down on a world from the heights of the clouds. If one combines those qualities, then one must somehow deduct or reason that a 'white eagle' would have impecible qualities and be able to fly high above the earth's drama and navigate with great ease and sense of direction towards its goals. Interestingly, it was the turkey, that the forefathers had at one time wanted for our national bird, but then re-considered, thinking it was far too stupid to bestow that noble title upon it. One has to wonder at that, for the turkey has survived just fine while the eagles are a threatened species and now have special protectons to keep them alive. That said, I would ask each person what animal, what bird, fish or critter inspires them to be the very best that they can be. The natives have totem poles with animals on them and each person, according to their birthdays, have a specific one that corresponds to them. I would not say for anyone to think they have to become like a white eagle...but to become all that they can be, to become aware of themselves, of their strengths, and their weaknesses....and hold true to themselves. To thine ownself.......be true, and thou can'st be false to anyman.
